Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ BAF 2015. Pitch black, surprisingly big mocha head. Nose is warming, big alcohol but not as big as I expected, chocolate, caramel, thick coffee, faint peat behind the sweetness & booze. Taste is warming, nicely warming & nowhere near as heavy as you would expect, peat very light interestingly, big syrup, warming, chocolate, caramel, black coffee, sweet,… Thick & warming. A bit simple but very nice & surprising how restrained this is for a 18.7 % Imperial Porter aged on Ardmore barrels. I expected something harsh but this is oddly drinkable. Very interesting, nice beer. Impressive.

Draft at Kaapse BAF ’15. Pours near black with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, whiskey, boozy barrel notes and dark chocolate. Flavour is light heavy sweet and over moderate bitter. Full bodied with alcoholic warmth (though not as bad as the ABV suggests), and soft carbonation.
