(Thanks, Peter! "phaleslu") Bottle. A- Bourbon, cocoa, malty. A- Black color, dark liquid, light brown head. T- Bourbon, chocolate, malty, molasses. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, strong finish. O- I’m honestly struggling to recall all the things I got from this. It was definitely boozy and had a lot of flavors going on in it. This one was definitely a sipper.

Bottle shared late night during RBWG 2015. Pours rich black-brown with a creamy beige head. Pretty sweet, lots of sugary dark malts, rich chocolate, mild alcohol, burnt pine, earthy bitterness. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with some sticky and gooey chocolate, strong roast, darkr hits, raisins, scorched earth. Good stuff.

12oz bottle via trade with Alexsdad06. Bottle 40 of 120, 2012 vintage. Thanks a lot Brad. Pours a thick, opaque black with some clumpy, tan head. Nose has a lot of molasses, thick dark malt, licorice, dark bread, a little German chocolate cake, some raisin, some vanilla, caramel, mild coffee. Flavor has more of the barrel, vanilla, wood, chocolate cake icing, toasted bread, heavy molasses, coffee, a little Kahlua. Thick in the mouth but really smooth.

Bottle received by Secret Santa (Summer 2013). Thank you jsquire! Pours blackish brown with a small fizzy mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, raisins, sweet dark bread, moist soil, charred US oak, alcohol, dark chocolate, sweetened dark roast coffee and hay. Taste is very sweet, tiny sour and malty with roasted malts, salty liquorice candy, pumpernickel bread, vanilla fudge, bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee, dark honey, tar, charred wood, soil. alcohol and hay. Mouthfeel is round, slightly sticky sweet, oily, tiny boozy and near full bodied. finish is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, liquorice, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla fudge, tar and burnt wood. Pretty rough with lots of barrel and some offputting vanillin in the finish.

Fudge, prune, and bourbon nose, strong. Viscous, deep mahogany pour, headless. Full bodied, but not as thick as it looks. Hot bourbon, charred oak, black currant with prune overtones. Boozy. Oak and plum skins on the back end. Not really my thing, too much bourbon and too little stout.
