Produced on the basis of a nectarous mead with a strong aroma and a sharp taste. Our driest mead. Just like wine, it makes a good accompaniment to meals.

The lightest type of mead (1 part mead + 3 parts water). It contains 11% alcohol.

Rich amber colour. Brown sugar, honey and barrel in the enticing aroma. Apples, brown sugar, nice acidity, rich but balanced sugar finish with a splash of alcohol. Nice. The wood blasts through the finish, an assertive study in barrelling.

This is fricken halarious being able to rate a honey wine on a beer site, heheh. Had ’on tap’ at the Vintage Estate in Ohio, nice place and great eye candy. Smells a little vinegary. Sweet and strong by beer standards and its totally flat , eh. What else can be said about sweet mead? Viscous and oily fer sure. Quite strong by beery standards.

Bottle marked 960/3. Pours with a clear golden body with decent, strong legs. Aroma of wax, grass, pepper, herbs and alcohol. Taste is sweet and nutty (chestnuts and hazelnuts), herbal, wax, dryish finish. Long duration. Thin mouthfeel for what it is. If this is truly the driest mead they make, I am quite scared for my insulin levels (and I am not a diabetic). Lightly tangy in the finish. Slightly tannic. Alcohol peaks through.
