A rich nose with wheaty, yeasty and hoppy characters mingling with full-on mango and passion fruit. Added to that comes a kick of honeycomb, banana and a touch of sourness. The palate is sweet, very soft and delicate with an apple and tropical fruit 'bite' with a superbly balanced bitterness.
This belter of a Belgian Double IPA simply 'raises' the bar in its style.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear golden with a lacing, white head. Nose is fruity and yeasty with some alcohol. Rich, full body, carbonation is a bit on the low side, again fruity and yeasty with some phenols coming through as well. Bitter and boozy finish. 16.0217

Bottle shared with Matty O - sourced from Beer Gonzo. Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. Nose has some yeast, dough, white bread light citrus peel. Medium sweet flavour with notes of alcohol, hay, yeast, wheat, rind. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming to finish, with a bit of husky bitterness, more citrus peel. Not bad.

Tap at eebria. Hazy orange, little head. Smells of bread and tropical fruit. Flavour is a touch bready, mango, grapefruit, bitter hop and a dry, bitter aftertaste. Altogether too guzzleable for 8%.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo shop. consumed at home making Spaghetti Carbonara, Thursday 21st July 2016, Pours dark gold/light amber with a clean white head atop. Wonderfully zippy, spicy, nostril tingling aroma, fruity also. Soft in the mouth, thick mouthfeel, warming from the alcohol, spicy but as Loz describes it has a Saison feel about it (a beastly Saison mind!) This is a jolly good beer, thoroughly enjoying this, a nice twist on year standard DIPA. A8 A4 T8 P4 OV16 4.0

Ripe citrus to the taste buds, lightly spiced and with yeasty fruitiness towards the ending. Drying end. Hidden alcohol. Fine bodied. Likable (hotel room, Aberdeen 12.04.2016).

Draught Huge off-white head over hazy orange beer. Very spicy/herbal/hoppy nose, flowery, with coriander, thyme, wormwood. Bitterish-spicy, but also oxydated. Raw-bitter, weed-like, again spicy. Light to medium bodied, certain slickness. Not to my taste. Overdosed on... whatever that spicy bitterness is. I’d never guessed ginger, anyway.
