Tijdens het bottelen is Lapsang Souchong Butterfly thee toegevoegd. Lapsang Suchang Butterfly is een zwarte Chinese thee met een vuur- en rooksmaken welke op prachtige wijze combineert met de mout en de hop.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Aroma of smoke, leather and some tropical hop fruits. Taste is quite smokey, with that nice German rauchmalz. Has some caramelised malt and grassy peachy hop as well. Nice beer.

Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ BAF 2015. Dark brown, little white. Nose is licorice, herbal, cough syrup with sugary sweetness. Taste is sweet licorice, sweet BE qualities, herbal, candy, light herbal smoke,… Body is sweet flatter syrupy, candy. Quite BE in its approach, didn’t pick up on Lapsang Souchong. Respectable.

Bottle shared by Sjogro. Almost black with big fluffy beige head. Nice hops on the nose. Aroma starts with massive smoke, coal, ash and than goes into more roasted malts and coffee. After a few sips you get used to the smoke and there’s some thick dark tea notes and citrus peel from the hops. Light sweet with medium roasted bitterness. Medium bodied with full carbonation. Quite nice overall.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average to huge, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Dark malty aroma, fruity notes of blue/dark berries, hints of aromatized black tea, green tea, leaves, a floral touch, no smoke. Taste is dry, woody, leafy, minimally smoky, minimally fruity, hints of green tea, slightly roasty, dark malty background, papery bitterness; lively carbonation. Not bad, but also not fully convincing.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is smoky roasted malt. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a rich roasty smoky earthy mineral, coffee, light caramel, grass hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Had black IPA characteristics.
