Vicaris Winter is a dark brown beer with a beautifully coloured head and rich aroma. Like the Vicaris Generaal, it is brewed using three varieties of malt and two hops. Our winter beer is the only Vicaris beer to which herbs are added and is therefore ideal for savouring during cold winter nights. The use of a specific yeast strain, the complexity of the malt varieties and the addition of liquorice and star anise give this beer the most complex flavour pallet of the whole Vicaris range.

mahogany colour, moderate sized creamy beige head; aroma of dried cherry, figs, some chocolate, wallnut notes, alcohol and hints of anise; taste of dried cherry, chocolate, some wallnut, biscuit and anise notes as well as alcoholic warmth; good Christmas beer

Draft pour to a trappist glass at Bambinos. Pours a dark brown with a thin film head. Very soft aroma. Almost absent. Toasty flavor with caramel that lingers. Smooth, cool flavor, and very nice. Solid winter beer.

25/10/2015 @home - 33cl bottle (2013) from Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte Dark brown with nice tanned head. Dark malt, caramel, some licorice, a lot of port taste. Less complex taste than I remember form other, maybe fresher version. Or my taste has changed a lot because I was a bit dissapointed in this one.

33cl Bottle from Prik&Tik Baelus. 2014 version. Brown colour, beige head. Aroma of spices, gale, coriander seed, alcohol, brown sugar, some liquorice, sweet dark malts. Flavour is sweet, malty, spicy, gale, liquorice, coriander seed, alcohol, laurel, hint of butterscotch, tiny bit of coffee, bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nice.

330 ml bottle. Pours a deep mahogany with moderate retentive head. Aromas of licorice, prunes, and dark sweet malts. Flavors of dark fruit, dark sugar, and spice with a light bitter/metallic finish.

10% On tap at Luppolo 12 at the end of the night, an opaque muddy brown with a minimal head and a boozy sweet malt nose. The taste was the same but too be honest by this point my taste buds were probably shot. Middle of the road Belgian Christmas beer.
