Bottle. Amber color. Bready aroma with plums. Grassy, slightly yeasty flavor with hints of caramel and roast. Alcohol and body of a Sticke Alt, but doesn’t hit the spot exactly. Drinkable nevertheless.

(Draught at De Prael Proeflokaal, Amsterdam, 22 Aug 2014) Brownish yellow colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with toast, orange peel and dark bread. Malty taste with notes of bread, toast, orange peel and a fairly dry finish with a gentle bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Doesn’t look like an altbier, but actually tastes like one. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle from the Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Poured a dark medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is light malt, light hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a dry, earthy, aspirin hop bitter palate with a hint of buttery caramel. Medium bodied with average carbonation. It took me a while to decide whether or not I liked this. I was clinging desperately to the fence for as long as possible, but in the end I decided I did indeed think it was OK! It certainly is "Johnny Wrong" but it has a distinctive hoppy character that is somewhat unusual.

From tap @ proeflokaal De Prael. Hazy amber color, medium to full sized off-white head. Don’t get a lot of aroma. Taste malts, slightly a hint of fruits. Quite dry and bitter in the finish. Medium body, full but suitable carbonation. Quite nice.
