Deep blonde in colour, Barbãr’s creamy head gives off a powerful aroma, unobtrusively scented with honey and accompanied by a bouquet of floral, spicy and citrus notes.

0.33 l bottle from 'belgiuminabox.com', best before December 2017. Clear, amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, quite spicy, slightly yeasty and a little fruity aroma of caramel, honey, coriander, some clove and hints of citrus. Quite sweet, malty, rather spicy, slightly yeasty and a little fruity taste of caramel, lots of honey, coriander, vanilla, clove and a touch of citrus, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, rather spicy, slightly yeasty and a bit warming finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. A bit over the top, rather heavy on the honey and the coriander, not really quaffable. Not really my cup of tea.

Very nice foamy head, slightly foggy golden body, some particulate floatin’ round there. Aroma is hops, sweetness, yeast. Flavour is heavy yeast, crispbread, hay, some funkiness, dry honey on the backend, cheese rind. Crisp on the mouth, good oiliness to balance it off. Very good beer by RJ.

Light colour, some head, sweet taste, but nothing exciting or memorable. As usual in these Belgians the strong alcohol was not even noticeable, went down smooth, but it was closer to a Belgian amber than anything with honey in it.

Bottle from Tesco. Awww Belgium. You have so much to offer for beer world. I love most that every beer from Belgium is different, but you can recognize that one line at every single one. Barbar is not one of my favorites though. Voltage is quite visible here, what I’m not really appreciating. I at least want some hope that I can stand more beers tonight!

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours golden, crisp with a nice fluffy head of white foam. Aroma is honey and grain. Body is kind of dense. Taste is sweet, with a relatively long finish.
