0,75l bottle at home. Batch 1. BB 27.03.2035. dark yellow color, medium big white head. smells earthy, citric, wood, nice funk, bit cheesy, very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes citric, grassy, earthy, spices, peppery, some cheese notes, light sweetness, wood, estragon, herbal. finishes lightly dry and very lightly sour with notes of cheese, funk and peppery notes. I was not that convinced at first (like with every Gueuze above 6%), but this has great complexity and very nice funky notes, just a touch on the sweet side, but overall great stuff.

28/XI/15 - 75cl bottle @ Winters Bierfestival (Vichte) - BB: n/a (2015-1654) Thanks to Bierridder_S and the Gentse Biervereniging crew for sharing today's beers!
Bit cloudy dark blond beer, creamy irregular off-white head, non adhesive. Aroma: oh yeas, that's it, Boon does it again! Funky, dry, wood notes, pure brett! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, citrus, little bitter, brett, very funky, sourish. Aftertaste: bit dry, sourish, funky, lots of brett. Very essential, lovely stuff.Earlier Rating: 12/14/2015 Total Score: 4.717/XI/15 - 75cl @ Horeca Expo (Gent) - BB: n/a (2015-1599) Thanks to Stijn and Melissa for sharing the beer!
Clear orange beer, creamy irregular fizzy off-white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: very distinct brett notes, this takes me back to the essence of geuze, it reminds me very hard of the first time I ever smelled a geuze beer. It's is lovely and complex, woody, slightly fruity, funky, with a hint of vegetables. MF: lively carbonation, medium body. Taste: very fruity, dry, citrus, a bit grassy, rather clean. Aftertaste: very fruity, almost sweet, citrus notes. And as always, it is the hardest beer style to describe and my words don't do justice to this lovely beer.

Bottle from the Mikkeller webshop. Opens under high pressure, beware people ! Pours unclear, rather amber towards blonde. Big white head fades fast. Smell is intense, and indeed dry. Taste is intense, bit dry, sour, apple-notes. Oaky, for sure. Less funky than most other oude geuze’s . Very high carbo, and a rather low MF. Somewhat lemon-ish as well. Earlier Rating: 11/15/2015 Total Score: 4.2Bottle at horecabeurs 2015. Pours blonde, good white head. Smell is very fruity. Taste is mildly sour, fruity, funk. High carbo. Sharp taste . Very nice ! leaning towards the vat 77, but more sour.
