People with great knowledge of the craft beer business told us that storytelling is half the pleasure of drinking expensive beer. So we asked a local historian to dig into the location of Amager Bryghus. And to say the least, we were thrilled to discover that our brewhouse is located next to an old water hole on the historic trash trail across Amager. Since ancient time our ancestors have quenched their thirst right here while transporting their rubbish to the famous trash pits of Amager. Likewise is the Buffalo Trace Destillery in Frankfort, Kentucky located on what was once an ancient buffalo crossing on the banks of the Kentucky River. Thus history blends together beautifully – from Amager to Kentucky. We hope you’ll enjoy how we in this special edition of Hr. Frederiksen blends strong black beer with some of the best quality Bourbon ever made.

Botella de 50 cl en León una noche de verano de 2013 en Llamas y en Cimeria 7-12-13. Alucinante imperial stout. Color negro intenso con espuma oscura que desaparece a la mitad del vaso casi por completo. Cuerpo fuerte. Aromas intensos a malta tostada algo de chocolate y mucha mucha madera quemada de dulce bourbon. Gran sabor de licor de pasas añejas. Sabor intenso tostado y predominio de madera quemada de bourbon muy bien integrado con el sabor amargo, que viene después del bourbon. Cerveza imprescindible repetir, una gran imperial stout

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Really black, coarse head. Spicy nose with some licorice. Dryish with full body and form mouthfeel. Intensely peppery with lots of licorice and salmiak. Quity hoppy with bitter finish. Heavy on bourbon.

Bottled@omhper. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some alcohol and sugar and that’s about it. Flavour is liquorice, alcohol, stingingly sweet with also some slight berryish notes.

botlte from toft vin, islands brygge. (great shop - insane selection of amager bottles). pitch dark, smooth light brown head. not that strong aroma, wood, bourbon, hard roasted malts, very nice, but sort of closed in on itself. Flavor is extremely woody. wood, glue, tar, bourbon, I wonder how long this has been on wood... also roasted malts,and the general fantastic flavor profile of mr. frederiksen. however, glue and weird woody notes are a distraction. If You are looking for an extreme beer, look no further.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of bourbon, booze, wood, chocolate, raw sugar, solvent and apple skin. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of booze, bourbon, wood, raw sugar and chocolate. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Way worse than the original, too boozy.

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff feb-13: kølsvart og nesten tyktflytende. 12 mnd fatlagring på bourbonfat har ikke virket positivt. Her er en intens aroma av grønne, umodne epler. Smaken er tilsvarende. Hr. Frederiksen er en mye mer behagelig herre i sin regulære utgave.

500 ml bottle, batch #355, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 11.0%. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Strong aroma of wood, there are some notes of vanilla and bourbon, but not quite as pronounced as I expected. Roasty notes of coffee and chocolate in the background. Intense flavour, roasty and oaky as hell, and here the bourbon comes through more distinctly. Notes of strong coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla. Impressive stuff.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, oak, chocolate, coffee, wood and hops.
