On tap at Willie the Boatman, pours a deep dark brown / near black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and bready malt. Flavour is quite light tasting, with dry cocoa and oats. Creamy mouthfeel but fairly boring. Meh.

(On TAp) Black with short-lived tan head. Fantastic smoky aroma. Light body with very good carbonation. Surprisingly mellow. Little sweetness. Coffee notes. A little thin. Plenty of smokiness.Very quaffable and unusual beer.

640ml bottle into shaker. Strong nose of milk chocolate and stale bread. Almost opaque with a thin tan-coloured head, good lacing. No carbonation visible. Medium body with initial weak fruit cordial taste. Finish brings in a slight smokiness and more fruit. It tastes more like a porter but it looks like a stout. Not bad.

Tap at the brewery. Black, creamy brown head. Nice round coffee roast notes, smooth mouthfeel, fine dry edges in the finish. Delicious.
