This is the bigger, badder version of Coffee and Cigarettes, our popular lightly smoked coffee porter. We use over 5 lbs per barrel of Sightglass coffee for an intense coffee kick alongside a light addition of German Beechwood Smoked Malt for a touch of smoke character. We infused this with the Sightglass’s Honduran Nueva Esperanza.

Tap as part of a sampler at the brewery. Black with moderate brown head. Overt ash and coffee, with the roast slightly and nicely restrained. Flavor follows the taste. Very solid.

Crowler: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a huge dark brown foamy head. Aroma of dry bitter roasted malt with huge black chocolate notes, light smoke/tobacco notes is pretty intense. Taste is an intense mix of sweet black chocolate notes with dry bitter roasted malt notes with light smoked and some tobacco notes are also perceptible. Body is full with good carbonation with not overwhelming notes of alcohol that are perceptible. Intense and a beer that his better shared but glad I tried it.

A deep dark porter with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with loads of peated smoked malt, light coffee, very nice. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, musty character, light peated notes, vanilla and vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice. Crowler from brewery. Tasted at Pushkinwows Xmas 2018 gathering.

29-09-18 // taster from the bottle at Mon Petit Cafe Stuttgart at the Pre-Zwanze-Tasting. Depp black. Cigarette smoke nose. Coffee body. Too much cigarette aromas for me.

(On tap @ MBCC 2017 Yellow Session, Copenhagen) Black pour with a tan head. Notes of nice roasted coffee really dominating, kiss of smoke, dark ashy roasted malts with a touch of caramel sweetness, chocolate, softly fruity, a little licorice, finish is dry and loaded with coffee and roast, ash, smoke, rather bitter to close out an only lightly sweet beer. Fairly long aftertaste. Medium-full bodied with no real alcohol. Really nice, about as good as smoked beer gets for me.

Sample at GABF 10/07/2017, thanks to my bro for assistance with note-taking. Brown-black color with a medium khaki head that diminishes gradually. Patches of lace. Roast malt, coffee and chocolate aroma. Full-bodied with a smokey malt character and notes of roasted coffee and chocolate. The finish is roasty with a coffee and malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.
