Pitch black colour with a nice brown head. Aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Nice bitter flavour with good coffee tastes. Fully bittered aftertaste-very good to try! Overall, a nice example of a foreign stout and I’m very grateful to try this beer. Many thanks to Tim for picking this up down in the caribbean! I sampled this 330 mL bottle on 15-May-2004 at the May RB Party in Toronto, Ontario. - This rating was for the Jamaica bottle.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a creamy light tan head that leaves behind good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a roasted sweet malt with raisin. Thin mouthfeel with a very sweet malt taste with a nice dry finish. A lot sweeter than the US version. A very good foreign stout from PLC.

300 ml bottle from garthicus; Thanks Al; says "BREWED UNDER LICENCE IN KENYA BY KENYA BREWERIES"; Nose of oats; burnt malt, light molasses, and a roasty molassesy note. Black with a big, glass-lacing tan head; Flavor has pepperiness, raosted coffee, chocolate, and mild hop bitterness: Better than the NA version but not as good as the Irish FES! 275 ml bottle from my son Enniskillen. Label says "Product of Jamaica". Nose is chocolate, coffee, roast, and a hint of char. Clear dark brown with a medium, lightly lacing beige head. Flavor is light bitterness, with light notes of coffee and chocolate. The Kenyan one has better flavor than aroma while the Jamaican one is the opposite.

Bottle from Goldtwins. I’ve had this before, gave some away and never rated it myself. Thick, tan creamy head over an opaque black body. Light toasted malt aroma. Light to medium bodied with lots of burnt roast malt flavor. Long lingering bitter finish. Bitter and rather one-dimensional. Kenyan version from Suttree. I’ll rate this the same as the Jamaican.
