Lecker!

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head. Aroma of floral coffee notes with light roasted malt notes and some black chocolate notes. Taste is a mix of floral coffee notes with no bitterness, some black chocolate notes and light residual sugar. Body is full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol notes. World-class coffee stout.

Tap (Szynkarnia, Wrocław). Black with long, brown head. Aroma is delicate, a little bit sweet, coffee, roasty. Taste is definitely coffee and roasty at the beginning with sweet finish. Beer is very smooth with completely hidden booze but warms inside after few sips. Overall very tasty RIS.

75 cl bottle @ Ruoholahti Beer Festival 2018
Aroma has mocha and vegetables typical to coffee beers. Also licorice. Flavour has somewhat sharp alcohol, coffee, licorice and chocolate. Some vegetable vibes in the background. A decent slow sipper, perhaps a bit too sharp alcohol here though.

Perennial's acclaimed coffee stout, 75 cl bottle with the familiar ginkgo leaf on the crown cap. Moussy, thinnish head, but with some forcing, a creamy, frothy, initially very deep ruddy brown head is formed, gradually shifting to a paler yellow beige but opening in the middle; black robe with hazy burgundy edges, visible for a few millimeters off the edge. Pleasant bouquet of coffee liqueur, walnut oil, melting 'fondant' chocolate, toffee, mocha ice cream, whisky, liquorice, notes of butterscotch, green beans, young madera and leather. Sweet candied date- and raisin-tinged onset with a very subtly apple- and blueberry-ish edge; soft carbonation, very thick, oily, viscous body. Thoroughly pecan nut-, hazelnut- and toffee-like malt base with thick chocolatey edges, eventually roasted bitter with the added coffee pushed upwards retronasally, in a mildly aromatic and slightly 'greenish' way; the roasted end bitterness is accentuated by a strong, whisky-like alcohol glow, balancing on the brink of astringency but well-embedded in the thick nutty and chocolatey maltiness which goes down with deep and long-lasting effect. Another rich, big, classically American style imperial stout by this excellent brewery, though perhaps not quite at the world class level of their more famous Abraxas.
