This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory—maybe something with a multimillion-dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it’s made in a little brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless fizzy yellow beer will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multimillion-dollar ad campaigns make a beer taste better. Perhaps you’re mouthing your words as you read this.

Too many strive towards complacency as a goal. We grow up thinking that the ability to become complacent is the equivalence of success in life. True Arrogant Bastards know that this could not be further from the truth. The real beauty, richness and depth in life can only be found if the journey through life itself is looked upon as a constant chance to learn, live and find life’s passion. Passion threatens the complacent, and fills them with fear. Fear of the new, the deep and the different. We, on the other hand, seek it out. Endlessly, joyously...and aggressively. To this end we bring you “OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale.” Another reward for those seeking new sources of passion, and another point of dissension for those who are not.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkelrötlich-braunes Bier mit schöner stabilen Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig süß, fruchtig herb. Geschmack würzig malzig mit stark bitterem Abgang. Leichtt holzig, interssant!

Reviewed from notes. She pours a hazy brown body that gives a one finger white head and dies within twenty seconds. No carbonation to be seen rising. Some ringy lacing appears. The smell has some wonderful amounts of oak but not overbearing and has some hops appear. The is well balanced between the oak and the hops and malts done extremely well. On the palate, she sits about a light to medium. There was no carbonation felt. She was fairly sessionable.
Overall, well, I thought the \"arrogant bastard\" was just an ok beer, but this is way better. Everything is perfectly balanced. Personally, I think the \"oaked\" version of this makes the regular \"arrogant bastard\" look like a kindergartener.

Bottle on the train from Thurso to Inverness, from the Highland Bottle Shop, 20/10/13. Chestnut brown with a good sized light tan head. Nose us dark toffee, caramelised sugars, light smoke, fruity tang. Taste comprises burnt sugars, dates, Xmas cake, light booze, dark toffee, sprucey booze drenched wood. Medium bodied with bite, moderate carbonation with a little prickle, woody tones in the finale. Solid ASA.

Flaske på RB samling hjemme (takk til Ivar): en forsiktig aroma bedrar. Her er det mye humle- og maltsmak som ikke kolliderer, men humlebitterheten får overtaket. Ikke minst i den lange ettersmaken.Arrogant og in your face, men det funker.

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. Hazy, chestnut brown. Thin, matching head. Aroma is bonfire toffee. Some privet leaf. Taste is complex. I could drink this all day (all in the name of research, obviously). Quality beer.

12 fl oz bottle. Ruby amber colour, biege foamy head leaving lots of lacing and aroma of caramel, oak, fruity orange hop. Taste is malt caramel, toasted, oaky vanilla, spice, with fruity mango & orange rind hop bitterness. Oily mouth feel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry spicy bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Old rating rerated 30.08.2013, 0,35l bottle @ home:
Nice slightly brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and sweet, dark malts, hops, caramel, chocolate, nuts, grass, hints of coconut and vanilla. Taste is slightly oxidiced, caramel malts, hops, grass, chocolate, burnt caramel, oak, pine needles, vanilla, coconut. Longlasting bitterness, kind of a watery mouthfeel, still it’s also kind of oily / soapy as well. Nice.

Poured from a 12fl oz bottle (best before 09/04/13). Clear amber brown with nice off-white head. Floral hoppy aroma, not too excessive. Flavour much the same, some resin, mild wood. Medium body, dry finish.
