A chestnut, tawny red premium ale. Brewed with roasted malts and English Fuggle hops, to give a smoky, spicy hoppiness on the nose, leading to a molasses, nutty palate with a light fruity hop dryness.

21st October 2008. Clear brown beer. Fresh malt - a little nutty. Distinct banana undertone. Hoppy, bitterish and pretty dry finish. A little too dry. 2.8
Cask in the Sun Inn, Hulverstone, IOW. Clear deep amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. The malts bring a rich toffee caramel. The Fuggles hops a rich orange marmalade, even a trace of orange liqueur. Light finish. Night and day from the bottle 14 years ago.

[Cask at the Seaview Hotel, Seaview, Isle of Wight] Amber-chestnut with a slight white head. Syrupy mouthfeel, sweet malts with orangey hints balanced against an autumn leaf bitterness.

Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 2007. Hazy amber colour with no head. Plenty of English hops. Some fruity malt. Good fuggles hop throughout. Citrus and floral and aromatic. I rather like it, touch of ginger to the biscuity malt. Well made very English beer.

Bottled. Clear amber, minimal head. Strong hay aroma. Sweetish with soft caramelly malt and lots of hay-like Fuggles hops. Feels rich for 4.8% - almost massive. Lots of malt balances the hop contents perfectly. Medium bitterness.
