Dark orange amber with a thin white head. A nice hoppy caramel, light alcohol, vinous notes, like an old ale. In mouth, good sweet caramel malt, light hops, a decent IPA, medium bodied. Enjoyed with the Mtl Crew Sept. 9, 2006.

Poured a translucent bronze color from the bomber with a white, lacey head. Hoppy, but not overpowering, sweet aroma. Initial flavor is sweet and malty. The finishing flavor is sticky sweet and citrus. Nice IPA as it is not acidic or astringent, clean finish, nice beer. It’s billed as being very hoppy, which it isn’t but that’s ok. Subtle hops, solid flavor, nothing overwhelming.

Bomber poured light orangy copper with a small head. Beer is completely lucid. Aroma is present - hoppy (amarillo?) but not as strong as expected. Don’t think its been"aging" to long, its a recent beer. SO i don;t thin kthe hops have had a chance to fade yet Taste is also malt heavy, didn’t expect a new hop beer to be this malt dominated. Don’t think the hop heads would enjoy this. Taste is rather sweet with a present hop bitterness at the end.

Clear pale amber color with a fizzy white head. Aroma of caramel malt. Bitter hop flavor with some toffee in the end.

About two fingers of off-white head forms, initially, fluffy, with compact bubbles comprising it. The body is a light honey-amber with some modest auburn tinges. Head eventually recedes to cover, with minimal lace in small blotches. Beer is not crystal clear, but still fairly filtered.
The nose is very weak. Not flawed or off, just extremely dull. Light citrus fruits (oranges, lemon zest) and a leafy, bordering on vegetal, at first, floral-like note. Some sticky pale malt sugars add a bit of sweetness, while caramelized sugars and toasted malt can be glimpsed, adding very little, overall, in such small proportions. Warming allows more citrus and light grass to emerge, with more sweet malts becoming expressive. Some light candied orange notes, but it’s still far from invigorating.
The flavor, upon first sip, is earthy, crunchy and overly toasted, with syrupy caramel sugars nearly overwhelming the straightforward cascade and centennial display. Heavy oranges (heavy in ratio, not really heavy in flavor) and moderate floral notes do provide enough flavor and as it warms, a modest helping of bitterness. Malt is crystally, yet backed by enough round, sweet caramel and pale malt sugars so as to not get too dry or hard. Carbonation is very low, probably too low for the style, leading to too much malt dominance and too syrupy a texture. Some fruitiness interjects as it finishes (peach and papaya). Solidly made, and hits most of the marks, but certainly does nothing extraordinary for the style. I didnt find the alcohol to be a problem upon warming. Needs a boost in both malt and hop complexity.
