Draught at the taproom, 5.8% ABV
Blond color. It has a very light aroma of good hops, a bit citrusy. It has a good caramel flavor, quite dry mouthfeel, very bitter with some hop oils. Balanced. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Hazy amber, creamy golden head. Pineneedle hop aroma. Peppery IPA with a few flowers to soften the blow. Light fruity malt, chewy enough, sparkly mouthfeel. Citruspeel, pine and grass exhaling - doesnt get soapy. Pleasant.

Thanks to Oakes for this one. 2006 Summer Edition. Pours hazy medium gold with a generous white head. Sticks to the glass as it goes down. Well balanced caramel malt with a delicate, floral hop aroma. Well rounded flavor, the smooth bitterness balances the sweetness, with some dryness coming in at the finish. Not overpowering, but solidly brewed.

While I didn’t like the 2005 at all (had some unpleasant phenols) the 2006 edition is a much cleaner brew. It has a hazy light amber colour; woody hop aroma with caramelly, earthy malt balance. It’s crisp, moderately bitter with marmaladey hops, wood, earth and a hint of crystal malt. Fairly dry finish. Nothing mindblowing, but could be a summer standard ’round here.

2007 is quite similar...this time it’s gone from 6.8% to 7.2%. The character is more or less the same, perhaps with a bit more pithy, citrusy bitterness in the finish, which makes it quite refreshing. I’ve bumped up the flavour, palate and overall scores accordingly.

Hazy amber, beige head.Light fresh hop nose.Medium hop profile with lots of balancing malt.Unfortunately, the malt seems to take something away from the hops, making the beer seem less hoppy...undesirable for the style
