Brewed at BrewWharf, bottled at Kernel.

This is a one-time-only beer, brewed prior to the closure of BrewWharf for the Americans, during the London Olympics 2012. Brewed from a trove of riches, aka, the hopstore, the beer included Columbus, Centennial, Simcoe and Citra hops, great coffee from Coleman Coffee, (in near by Borough)over great malts from all over the place. We even added some lactose for good measure. If you’re looking for a something rich to sit down too, this may be the one. Brewed to drink, selfishly, not to share in inches. It’s strong, black, smells of coffee and hops. We like it, we hope you do too...

Lots of love, Angelo and Phil.

Bottle at Brew Wharf. First impression is that it seems pricy for something they make here and that it is 330ml. Pours very thick dark brown black colour with creamy gold head. Aroma is booze, lots of coffee and citrus hops. Bit of roasty malt but it is obscured a bit by the booze. Taste is coffee grounds, very strong, some chocolate, no hops really, but full on darkness. Very thick and almost a bit slick. However, the best of their beers I had.

Bottle big thanks to Colin, shared with Niller, Hammel, DK - black pour with small tan head. Sweet and medium roasty malty aroma and taste, coffee and cocoa notes, liquorice, pretty dry on the palate at first, them some bitter hoppy backing comes in, very enjoyable brew. Lovely stuff.

Bottled 330ml ABM. Deep black color, tiny brown head. Strong aroma of licorice, black malts and coffee. Full-bodied. Roasted, a bit sweetish licorice flavor, some bitterness and light notes of alcohol. Rounded and very pleasant brew.

330ml bottle. Black colour with small, late awakening, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, beige head, a thin layer remains. Intense dark malty aroma, lots of milk chocolate and dark chocolate, some coffee, a caseous, sweaty touch. Taste is dry dark malty, notes of coffee, mocha, bitter chocolate; long lasting finish, oily texture, sticky palate. Excellent.
