Pours a cloudy gold, nice white head, strong hops and floral aromatics, similar sweet saison with pungent hops taste. Very interesting.

Bottle. Golden in color with a two finger head. Aroma is typical Belgian Saison spice with hops. Taste is the Saison sweetness with the hoppy, bitter finish.

Aroma of citrus, funky yeast, tropical notes, floral notes, fresh grassy hops. Flavour is light sweet and light tart, leading to a long bitter finish. Interesting and quite tasty.

Tap @ BBF 2011. Orange blonde, cloudy. Citrus and peppery hops in the aroma. Very hopbitter, peppery citric flavor. Long citric hopbitter aftertaste.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours translucent gold with a creamish whitish head. Flavor is earthy/spicy Belgian with a hint of bubble gum! Medium body or so. Dry. Spice takes the place of bitter and does a good job. Tasty stuff.

Curious saison, made all the more mysterious by its unknown bottling date. Could be six months, could be three years. (Judging by its way-way-back-in-the-back location on the store shelf, I'm leaning towards the latter.) Nice citric hop notes remain discernible despite its enigmatic aging, yet the slightly funked yeastiness and caramel-apple undertones do seem to belong to a beer slightly past its prime. Grassy vanilla-clove and floral veins round out the hops, and the finish stays dry and spicy. Would love to have tried this fresh. Unless I am. Not bad, either way.

Cette collaboration entre la brasserie Nogne O et la brasserie Bridge Road est bien plus proche de l’India (Pale Ale) que d’une saison. D’ailleurs pour un IBU de seulement 40, l’amertume est particulièrement saillante et intense gustativement ; mais le choix comme houblon de Stella et de Galaxy à haute teneur en acide alpha n’y est pas étranger. En verre la bière est couleur abricot (EBC d’environ 23), voilée et parée de très fines bulles donnant naissance à une mousse blanche d’un centimètre et demi environ. Le nez se porte sur des arômes d’agrumes (et notamment la mandarine) et de miel de thym se complétant très bien et relevés par une pointe épicée . L’attaque est fraîche est très orientée sur l’amertume avec des notes fleuries, d’agrumes sur une point de miel. La deuxième bouche est plus suave, toujours fleurie mais avec des notes fruitées se tournant davantage vers les fruits jaunes et la mangue (en complément des agrumes). L’arrière bouche, sur un bel équilibre malt/houblon, présente quant à elle des notes plus épicées. Notre India Saison marque cependant un peu le pas en troisième bouche, perdant en intensité aromatique avant de laisser entièrement s’exprimer l’amertume, saillante, dans un final long et des arômes de pamplemousse et épicées (poivre), l’amertume restant d’ailleurs très longtemps en bouche. Rien à dire sur l’alcool titrant à 7,5 % Abv et sur le sucre pas trop présent pour une bière plutôt bien équilibrée et rafraîchissante. C’est toujours la saison pour une bonne IPA!
