Paler and a hint sweeter, but strong and rich in flavours with a predominance of pale malt hence the golden colour.

Bottle at home, 18/05/18. Clear golden with a decent off white cap. Nose is a touch muted with light citric peel, breads, toasted malts and grass. Taste comprises subtle orange peel, airy malts, crackers, toasted grains, light biscuit, hint of caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light leafy bitterness. Passable ESB.

50cl bottle from the brewery. Poured a brilliant clear pale gold colour with a trace of white head and light carbonation, leaving a hefty layer of sediment in the clear bottle; earthy malt aroma; chewy, malty body with a touch of orange and citrus; then an earthy bitterness to finish. Very drinkable.

BCA at the ’Hangi’ Charlton-on-Otmoor/Oddington Sat 04-10-08 Pours clear golden with white head, very good clarity to this despite some yeast gradually settling through slight kack handed pouring. Clean and refreshing with a nice sweet, malty bitter bite. Some hoppiness is present but ultimately this is quite a simple though decent beer.

[Bottle Conditioned] A hazy orange beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet fruity and so is the flavor, while the mouthfeel is flat.
