Bottle from the lcbo. Dark mahoghany brown pour, with a large beige head. Aroma has a touch of rhubarb tartness, soft sweetness. Light buttery oak that all Innis beers have. Light roast, no hops, no coconut. The finish smacks of the traditional buttery, woody oak in all the Innis beers. Light resinous hops, light tartness, low bitterness. It's really all over the place. An odd beer.

Pours a copper colour with a big creamy-frothy warm-beige head, great retention and thick creamy-foamy lacing. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, nuttiness, leafy notes and hints of fruits. The taste is a mix of the fruitiness from the rhubarb, bitterness from the IPA hops and roasted malt base. The hoppiness and fruit do seem to fight each other. Not feeling much of the coconut, as so much else going. I love black IPAs, I love fruit beers, but this is not one I would go back to.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear brown with orange hue and a large, foamy, long lasting, beige head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of bready malt, caramel, rhubarb and faint oak. Sweet flavour of grainy pale malt, dark chocolate, vanilla, slightly tart rhubarb, oak, a hint of coconut and floral hops with a dry, mild spicy rum finish. Light to medium body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Interesting and unique. A little on the mild side, but has potential.
