Bottle shared by Ken at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours brown, no head, orange glints. Aroma is mildly sour with fruit/cherry notes. Med body or better. Flavor is slightly sour red berry, arguably cherry, with an odd touch of chocolate - like often found in US browns, but not so much in Flemish ales. Finishes towards sour, not very dry, not very bitter, and I think a bit maltier than usual for the style. Nice ale!

On tap at Brouwer's Cafe for Big Wood 2014, pours a hazy dark orangey amber with a small beige head. Aroma is unusual, with notes of whiskey, vomit, and sour fruits. Flavour is sweet and sour, with notes of tart fruits, brown sugar and toffee. A little weird, but very nicely balanced. Sweeter than most Oud Bruins, but very nice. Enjoyable stuff.

2013 bottle pour at the brewery. Pours a dark red color with a thin patchy head. A slight sour cherry aroma. Really easy drinking mellow sour fruit flavor with cherry and maybe a bit of plum. Finishes sour with a tiny bit of spice. Amazing beer here.
