12.7 oz corked and wax-dipped bottle. Aroma is very woody, along with dark overripe fruit, raisins, dusty brett. Pours nearly clear mahogany with a one finger beige head that falls after a minute. Taste is strong in wood, and it does taste quite a bit like a fruitcake; very dry. Taste is mildly sour (2/10 on a sour scale). I like a funky beer; I really should have cellared this at a warmer temp to get that type of character. Dang. Very interesting, though.

Bottle. Pours clear deep purple ruby, small creamy beige head, dissipates fairly slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is light, notes of cherry, oak, whiskey, dark sugars. Flavor is light sweet and quite light tart, a bit of funk and some cardboard. Minimal bitterness, some astringency. Fruity, a bit of cinnamon perhaps. Not a lot going on here, unfortunately. Medium body, fairly strong alcohol burn on the finish.

Bottle @ home, bro bro bronus of a chill trader. Thanks ! Pours an orangish maroon appearance with a thin off white head. A bit dusty, oaky / whiskey, dark berry aroma. Vanilla and herbal notes. Goopy / caramel / toffee taste with fig and date notes. A bit of berries. Pretty woody, light whiskey. Finishes pretty smooth. Not my favorite but not a bad effort.

Shared by Tom at Chuck’s. Color is very dark ruby brown. Aroma is very good and weird. First smells of sour then very woodsy and something very strange... Like maybe fennel or something like that maybe curry. Flavor has a strong cherry lactic character. Don’t take my word for it. Strong sour bounded by the strength. Earthy and woodsy. Strong, a little too strong.

On tap at the Holiday Ale Festival. An usual brew. Pours a deep brown color with a large white head. The aroma is deep Belgian spices, some sour fruit, wood. The flavor is mostly sour fruit, a bit of dust, some tartness, oranges, some heat, a bit of dry barrel. Gin? Heat and sourness. Pretty nice.
