Bomber bottle, chilled. Has a very modest pile of foam and a nice cloudy orange-copper body with minimal carbonation. Aroma is caramel and fruity sugar, lots of sweetness that is just barely under control. Flavour is melted brown sugar and molasses followed by a finish that is almost sickly sweet. Cloying is all over the place here. Granville island seems to have a problem with their big alcohol brews, too much sweetness just makes the whole thing a syrupy mess.

Bottle: Poured a brown with white head. Aroma is sweet malts. Taste is veggie and sweet malts.

Bottle from the brewery
Dark amber color with medium sized beige head. Strong aroma of malt, caramel, chestnut honey. Full bodied, smooth mouthfeel, good malt and caramel flavor with a hint of chocolate and fudge; low alcohol feeling; nice final with honey and nuts.
A rare example of Doppelbock with enough malt depth.

Golden brown. Nothing. Sweet nose, but also quite papery. On the palate, papery with a light bit of brown sugar.

650mL bottle, pours a dark chestnut brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out caramel, toasted nuts and bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted nuts, caramel, brown sugar and bready malt. Fairly sweet and lacking depth, but it's pleasant enough.
