Draft at the Klein Duimpje beer fest. Pours dark brown with a big tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roast, licorice, coffee and a little dark fruit. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Cask at In de Wildeman. ABV 5.1%. Deep dark brown to black colour, no head. Aroma of booze, chocolate, roasted malts, caramel. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, dark fruits, chocolate, booze again (only 5.1%?!), light coffee, roasted bitter finish. Light bodied, oily mouthfeel. I found this one quite hard to drink.

(Cask at In de Wildeman, Amsterdam, 15 July 2011) Dark brown colour with brief, foamy head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, chocolate and dark bread. Mild coffee bitterness. Dry. Slightly watery texture. Decent, but lacking something extra.

Cask @ In De Wildeman. Dark brown color. No head, just a few big bubbles. Aroma’s of roasted malts, cocoa, sweet, hints of fruit & yeast. Flavor is roasted, somewhat sweet. Finishes dry, with lots of roast, and that’s where the coffee comes out a bit, and fairly bitter. Not really much coffee detectable. Nice, but needs some refining.
