On tap at 49th State, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt, some wood, and moderate hops. Flavour is rich and robust, with intense roasted malt, wood, plenty of hops, and dry cocoa. Rich, chewy and forceful — finishes balanced and liquoricey. Excellent.

This is a relatively light impy that has a great molasses character. The lightness allows it to be highly drinkable, but there is a lot of malt complexity and richness here. You get burned dark fruits, dryness, massive malts, basically everything a great imperial stout has, but without being so boozy.
