Pours a nice mahogany from a bottle. Aroma is brown sugar warming in butter, vanilla, oak, dried fig. Flavor is mostly sweet, a faint cola surprisingly. Rather thin for it's booziness and barrel aging. Good beer.

Bomber from Tavour. Mahogany pour with a thick beige head. Peated malts battles it out with bourbon barrel in the aroma, sweet, earthy, malty. Taste is brown sugar, woody, peat, sweet, gentle boozy notes. Bourbon and peated malts balance really well.

2016 vintage from a bottle. Aroma is subtle bourbon, dark fruit, scotch. Mellow malty scotch, dry apple, caramel, and layered bourbon in the finish. The cellar time mellowed the booze. Medium body, low carbonation. I nearly solo domed the entire bottle. Now I am lit.

Not quite as good as I thought it was going to be. Aromas are traditional Scotch ale. Flavors are dominated by Sweet with some of those Scotch qualities coming through but the sweet overwhelms.

Bomber from Malt and Vine. Pours clear and ruddy with a transient beige head. Aroma. Is very smoky. More single malt here than bourbon. Backed up with darkish fruit. Med + body. Flavor is smoky, fruity, bourbon, wood, heat. This has a really nice mix of flavors. Heat is not at all annoying.

Draft 6 oz pour at Brouwers Big Wood. 2014 vintage. Pours a clear reddish copper with a fading head. Play dough like aroma and flavor. Weird. Sweet malty finish. Play dough. Seriously. UPDATE: Draft 2016 version, at the brewery. Always fun to compare. Already like it fresh much better. More of a roasted malt character other than the overly sweet bready malt. Hints of dark fruit and vanilla. Slight oak. Toasty finish. Very nice beer here. I don’t know if its this years version, or the fact that its fresh, that makes this so much better. Tasty.

Draught at Elizabeth Station, Bellingham
Dark amber color, clear. The aroma is mildly vinous, oxidized, whiskey barrel. Lean body, quite sweet, but the booze balances the sweetness; caramel flavor, with bourbon whiskey; low bitterness.
May be pleasant to drink, but it’s simplistic, and it’s messy.
