Sample at the "Drink Moar Beer!" tasting on 06/12/2015: Clear copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of hops, fruit and rye malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of grapefruit, earthy hops and mildly spicy rye. The finish is spiced rye and citrus. Pretty good all around.

Bottle from Boise Coop. I’m surprised the ratings aren’t higher, its hitting all the marks for me. Clear, medium amber pour with nice fluffy head. Nice grainy aroma, which carries over to the taste. Rye adds the typical musty, sour, flavors, sweet and syrupy, nutty. All around exceptional beer.

Bottle: Bright copper in color and topped with a thick finger of creamy off-white head. Citrus and pine in the nose, rather sweet. Little bits of spicy rye blend with the sweetness. Just a light bit of dirty floral and herbal hops. The rye comes out more in the flavor, as do the floral hops. Lightly sweet, but mostly floral and herbal with the rye. Sort of a deep presence of freshly made sun tea. Nice clean finish.

22oz bomber pours with a crystal clear copper body that has thin gold edges and supports a full tan head of foam. The aroma offers up smooth malt sweetened fruitiness that feels a tad estery and a tad malt softened citrus and tropical fruitiness. It gets increasingly more resiny and boozy to the end of the draw. The taste is similar as the sweeter notes don’t seem to blend with the resiny boozy hoppiness. I’m trying to enjoy this but the sweet malts and sweet candy like fruity hops and the fruity esters just have an abrupt bitter hop resin boozy edge. Not sure about this.

On Tao at Hopcat Ann Arbor. Pours a clear golden amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of grains and rye with an earthy pine note underlying. Flavor combines earthy pine and rye with a bread backbone.
