Provides a floral and herbal character that balances the refreshing German Kölsch style. A classic Kölsch is less bitter than a pilsner with a slightly fruity and sweet biscuit note. Creates a bright fresh flavor by using Alsatian Strisselspalt hops for a subtle lemon and grassy hop note. Another layer of flavor by aging the beer on a bed of Jasmine Sambac, a fragrant night blooming flower from Southeast Asia. The jasmine creates a delicate floral aroma and flavor for a complex and refreshing brew.

Light gold color with low carbonation, and very little head. Aroma lightly sour grain. Flavor is lightly sweet with grain again, and a subtle yeast flavor. Good, smooth palate. Solid beer.

Bottle. Light floral, sour milk and barley aroma. Golden yellow color with large white head. Slightly sweet lemon and creamy barley malt flavor. Light herbal hops finish. Decent beer - a bit heavier than the average Koelsch.

bottle - Pours clear yellow-gold with a one finger lingering white head. There’s a light cereal malt aroma. The sweet malt flavor is light and refreshing. Mild hops provide some crisp balance to this bubbly brew. It’s failing is that it’s rather bland, but it would be good on a hot day.

12oz bottle into Sam Adams dorky glass. Filtered pale yellow tan. Clean, floral, almost perfumish, delicate aroma. Not perfect, but a pretty decent Kolsch. Mellow, doughy malt tones. Orange citrus hop balance. Quite soft on the palate and easy drinking. Some light pear notes, this is a decent interpretation for sure, better than I would’ve expected. Less Kolschy the more I drink it, but still a pretty cool beer, simple and sublime.

Bottle courtesy of markwise. The 12oz-er pours brilliant clear light gold with light tan head. The aroma offers up spicy hops, some malt graininess and lagery yeastiness. The taste is pretty crisp with both spicy and floral hops surging modestly forward. Behind the hops are mild notes of malts, grainy malts and yeastiness. Into the finish I get grainy malts and spicy hops.

12 ounce bottle from Harris Teeter Barracks Rd. Charlottesville, VA opened 4/28/11. Pours a clear pale amber color with a medium sized white frothy head that fades quickly. Aroma of caramel, fruity notes, grainy malts. The taste is grainy malts, sugary fruit nots. Thin-medium bodied. Not very much like a kolsch, but still decent.

On tap. Pours with a clear golden hue with a fluffy white head and good lace. Aromas are bready, toasty, grassy. Noble like or european hop profile. Light esters of pear, apple and green melon. Flavors are decently bitter and somewhat hop forward. Noble like hop notes, fruity and lightly spicy. Crisp, dry, malty and grainy. Clean. Neutral to slightly bitter balance. Medium to lively bubbles, light bodied, dry, bitter and crisp. A decent, and over hopped kolsch.
