Provides a floral and herbal character that balances the refreshing German Kölsch style. A classic Kölsch is less bitter than a pilsner with a slightly fruity and sweet biscuit note. Creates a bright fresh flavor by using Alsatian Strisselspalt hops for a subtle lemon and grassy hop note. Another layer of flavor by aging the beer on a bed of Jasmine Sambac, a fragrant night blooming flower from Southeast Asia. The jasmine creates a delicate floral aroma and flavor for a complex and refreshing brew.

Tap at the brewery, as Kolsch. Fruity, lightly estery, lemon, stone fruit in the nose. Grainy, slightly doughy flavor, lemon. Crisp. Decent.

On tap at tarrants on 06/11/2011. Clear golden body with a small creamy white head. Sweet fruit and light floral aroma. Sweet bready malt aroma with some light fruit. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle at Sander’s place, NYC during an evening of heavy drinking. Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam of a head. Nose is all pale malts, white bread. Medium to strong sweet flavor, very bready, but not cloying at all. There are notes of faint berries and light bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Clean finish, faintly toasty, more bready malts, mostly white bread. Very sessionable lager. Yeah, very drinkable.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a crystal clear yellow-gold color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was perfumey, herbal, a bit floral and citric - all vague and somewhat light. The flavor was tangy biscuit, perfume, floral hops and hints of hibiscus and pepper. Medium length tangy perfume and herb finish. Light to medium body. Ok.

Clear medium yellow body with a short lived white head. The aroma is very mute but consists of light malts and a subtle hop aroma. Light malt flavor tempered just a bit from a passing of hops. Clean and light; albeit a bit boring. Lawnmower beer.

Clear golden coloured body with perhaps a touch of an orange tint and almost no head at all to speak of. Aroma of pale malt, alcohol and a bit of metal, all with a very potent floral and almost lavender smelling bouquet. Light-bodied; Assertive malt and alcohol flavours at first with that super strong floral almost off-putting flavour. Aftertaste shows a bit more roundedness with malt, some light hops, sugars and the floral notes really hitting hard. Overall, a decent beer - interesting, however, not executed too terribly well. A bit too bitter and too pungent in the flower notes. Decent to try, and pretty much just what I expected from Sam Adams. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Beverage Center in Chinatown (Mulberry St), New York, New York on 09-June-2012 for US$2.50 sampled at home in Washington on 14-July-2012.

Bottle: Poured a golden color with a white frothy head. Aroma is a funky sour egg and cardboard. Taste is sweet corn and grain, slight souring honey in the finish.

Bottle poured into a sample glass at Brewsapalooza. This beer isn’t bad, but just doesn’t have a lot going on. Nondescript malt aroma and taste. Maybe I just don’t care for the style, but this beer just really doesn’t stand out in any way.
