Bottle, 75cl corked. From trade with Fonefan. A huge, dense, off-white head sits on top of an unclear, orange-colored body. Cute curtains. Itβs vinous on the nose, with a faint oak touch, fruityness, alcohol and a light sugar hint. Some spices too. Thereβs a nice bitterness in the flavor, dealing with the sweetness and fruityness, but I find it a bit boring, and it lacks some of the complexity from the aroma. Itβs full-bodied and warming, with a nice carbonation level. Decent bitterness in the end. Overall, too alcoholic, but I sure like the vinous touch. 130508

Bottle on the Black Country Train Tasting Part I. Pours hazy gold with a strong, white cream head. Big sweet, sugary dough aroma with notes of yeast and orange. Hugely sweet flavor with more sugary dough, light herbs, honey, orange and alcohol. Full bodied with high, massaging carbonation. Warming finish with still more sugary dough, alcohol and honey. Very sweet, quite heavy. A great breakfast beer, to be sure.

Nose is yeast, fruits, orange, toasted malts, booze, light woody notes. Taste comprises Belgian yeast esters, sugars, grass, light spice, touch woody, white grapes, sugars. Full bodied with fine carbonation, touch of boozey bitterness in the finish. Decent enough.

Black Country Beano. Outbound train tasting! Gushy bastard! Light haze on this amber beer, good off white head. Persistent slow gusher after itβs initial explosion! Airy palate. Light woody sweetness goes well with nice mellow Sauternes sweetness - light winey orange. Light malt cream underneath. Tasty but messy!
