Odense Late Summer Post-Munkekonge Whale Spotting Night. Dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of dark dried fruit and licorice. Sweetish málty flavour with licorice and fruit, grassy hops and a quite bitter finish

Nice dark brown to black color with a nice dark red glare coming through, full sized foamy beige to light brown head that lasts for a long time and leaves good lacing. Aroma malts, roasted malts, dark malts. Don’t get hops unfortunately. Taste malts, roasted malts, lightly caramel, very bitter. Again, no hops unfortunately. It has the bitterness for sure, but no hops in the aroma nor flavor. A bit thin texture, average body, firm carbonation.

Bottle split at Bruce’s Pad, thanks to our Ken, 12/06/14. Mahaogany brown with a moderate light beige covering that retains. Nose is light roast, Ribena berries, dark malt, perfumed aroma, tangy red berries. Taste comprises dark berry fruit, hoppy interlude, dusting of cocoa powder, Beena berries, light tropicana. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Solid enough CDA.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy. Rich dark malts but like the palate, airy. Light roast malt bitterness. Hops are mild pine with a little noble hop like floral bitterness. Trace of tropical fruits. Airy finish with a light bitter linger. Solid CDA.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a medium beige head. Aroma is very earthy, with dry dank hops, and a little toasted breast malt. Flavour is yeasty and hoppy and dank, with notes of roasted malt, earthy hops, and dry unsweetened cocoa. Extremely well-balanced, with a dry palate. Excellent black IPA Belgian style.
