33cl Fles bij De Kluizenaar. Mistig goudgele kleur, witte kraag. Zoet-kruidige geur, moutig, fruitig, appels, banaan, degelijk bitter, niet heel droog. Volle body. Te zoet en kruidig voor mijn smaak, wat wel vaker het geval is bij hedendaagse 'saisons'. Meer een standaard sterk en kruidig Belgisch Blond dan een Saison wat mij betreft.

T: malty, sweet fruity, mellow fruity, light oily mouthfeel, lack some more spicy bitterness more on the sweet side, bit alcohol, bready, bit coriander, lemon, good but not great, enjoyed, 33cl bottle from Prik & Tik Leuven.

Bottle @ home. Clear orange golden color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, wheat, sweetness, orangepeel and soft banana notes with a touch of yeast, but also light hints of ripe peach in the background. A light bitter touch sort of tries to outweigh the overall also dominant sweetness in the finish, but doesn't succeed. Body is decent, texture lightly oily, carbonation is somewhat active but not annoying. Quite a pleasant typical Belgian saison imo.

Pours clear golden with a foamy, white head; no lacing. The aroma contains hops, barley, yeast, bread, spices, apple and citrus. It tastes light fruity sweet, very light sour and medium to heavy spicy bitter with a dry, hoppy and yeasy finish. Alcohol is well-hidden. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Complex character, high ABV doesn't really add something, some thoughts about the palate.

Clear yellow body. Lightly off-white head. Aroma of caramel, alcohol. Heavily bitter, slightly sweet flavour. Decent

Newer and stronger version of Ferme Saison, at ZBF. Moussy, off-white, rather thin but lacing head on a clear ’old gold’ coloured beer. Aroma of old apples, slight banana, rainwater, calvados, honey, lightly toasted bread, pineapple. Sweetish, fruity onset with sourish touch, medium carbonated, slick and even bit resiny mouthfeel, cereally and slightly caramelly malt sweet body, floral hop bitterish touch in the finish along with warming, bit brandy-ish alcohol which, considering its strength, remains fairly well hidden. Technically flawless, sweetish strong Belgian blonde, a ’strong saison’ in the style of Moinette Blonde if you like, but somewhat sweeter, could just as well be regarded as a tripel.
