37.5cl green glass bottle that is both corked and capped pours out with a slightly opaque copper body and gold hues supporting a thin near white head of foam. The aroma has acidic notes mixing with spiced red apple with some sweetened vinegar and faint yeasty funk in the background. The taste is full of acidic citrus and light hints of vinegar. It gets more acidic the more I drink leaving it sort of crushed aspirin like dry tartness as well.

Bottle at home in London on NYE. Pours clear, light gold with a fine, white foam. Musty leather on the nose, sour wheat, ripe lemons. Light sweet flavor with sturdy sourness, some dirt, mild acidity. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Crisp, tart lemon finish, sour wheat, a good deal of leathery mustiness. Light dryness. A pretty refreshing gueuze.

Bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, BBE 1.10.2013. Rated on 20.05.2012
Blind tasting with 15 other Gueuzes, this one placed 13.
Aroma has oranges, grapefruits, potato cellar and mold. Flavour is sourish with oranges and some grapefruits. Moldy cellar in the finish. Drinkable.
Bottle @ HBF ’16
Grapefruity, mild musty notes, better than I expected. Most likely the previous bottle was a bit bad. Harsh score estimate: 3.5

Certainly not the best Oude Geuze at all. But certainly the best beer from brewery De Troch. Maybe that say something about this brewery. This beer is sour with notes of lemon and green apples. Dry aftertaste. Nice, but there is better!

Kulminator on the Borefts 1 trip. Hazy gold beer. Sourish nose. Dry, but not overly so. Mild acidity but manageable. Not bad for a Lambic!

Clear golden colour, no head. Almost flat. Malty aroma, quite tart, lemon, hints of mint. Wood tones. Tart flavour, sour, lemon, light sweetness coming up, but not overly sweet like the regular Chapeau geuze. Light astringent wood tones. Very light -almost absent- carbonation. Finish mint, light astringent, wood tones. Lingering minty astringency, reminding of mint tea.
This specific brew is quite lovely! Better than any other Chapeau gueuze/cuvée I’ve had to date. Nice!
(From 37,5 cL bottle @ Café Jos, Nijmegen. BB 13-10-15)
