Pours mid amber and slightly hazy. Slightly off-white head, quite big and very compact as you would expect from a draught pour; shows good enough retention but actually not much lacing. A quite subdued aroma with biscuity and slightly toffeeish malts followed by hints of fruitiness and caramel. There's also a slight background of cola-like feel that gives it a bit of fresh feeling. Taste notes as per aroma, as the smell suggested not much going on in terms of both intensity and depth. Overall definitely on the sweet edge of the style but manages to finish dry enough and still slightly refreshing. Light bodied with quite light, extremely delicate, thin-bubbled carbonation, resulting in a very smooth and easy mouthfeel. A very mild take on the style that aims mainly at quaffability; quite good at that.

On keg at Ferry Boat Inn, Ullapool, Highlands, Tuesday 27th September 2022. Pours amber, with a chill haze, there is a creamy textured white head, cold, devoid of flavour, pretty grim.

Creamy white head on a clear amber coloured body with extreme lacing. Sweet malt & berry aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & soft. Sweet malt, caramel & berry tastes with a tangy finish. Decent.

Keg at Glenesk Hotel. Surprised I haven't had this before. It pours clear brown with a small white head. The aroma is earthy, woody, dusty, brown bread, nutty and leather. The taste is soft, smooth, sweet, toffee/caramel, cola, brown bread, rivita, toasty and nutty with short, dry finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Inoffensive brown liquid.

Keg at the Steamboat Inn, Carsethorn, near Dumfries. Dull amber with a thick off-white head and a light fizz. Thin body. Mild flavour, with dusty cardboard, A touch of caramel and wood. It's far from being the worst keg bitter that I've tried, but it's pretty poor.
