Named after Coronado Island, our original India Pale Ale is a liquid expression of hometown pride. Centennial, Chinook and Columbus hops combine to provide an explosive burst of piney bitterness and luscious notes of apricot, grapefruit and mango that are sure to evoke imagery of swaying palms and sun-kissed shores.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a mildly hazy orange color with a large orange-white head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was strong floral, grapefruity and perfumey hops with bitter and dry undertones. The flavor was dryish , tart and bitter with strong notes of perfume, flowers and grapefruit and had undertones of bread and nut. The finish was long, dry and perfumey. Medium body. Ok.

22 oz bottle. Poured a ruby amber color with a slightly off-white head. Aroma was grapefruits, citrus, caramel malts, slight floral arrangement. Flavor was a decent balance between the hoppy character and malts. Pine finish. A solid IPA.

Cloudy golden with a medium off white head. Aroma had plenty of hops, pine and grapefruit. Flavor came out dry with pine, grapefruits, loads of hops and pale malt. Finished dry and bitter. Not bad.

Crisp copper coloured body with a orange glow and a nice two centimetre tall tan head along with bubbles rising from the sides and middle of the glass. Aroma of fresh grassy, syrupy and piney hops, a touch of lemons and a good amount of malt and alcohol. Medium-bodied; Assertive hops up front with the pine and grapefruit flavours coming through most, a touch of syrupy sweetness and a good malt backbone covers effectively. A lot of carbonation is noticeable afterwards, along with a very potent hop bitterness, nice and puckering! Overall, a really good IPA that shows a lot of bitterness, and has a decent amount of complexity throughout! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 01-July-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 15-July-2010.

Location: On tap at the Brewbup, 1/6/10

Aroma: Fresh hops nose of peach, grapefruit, and citrus
Appearance: Clear golden-orange color with a thin off-white head
Flavor: Smooth fruity, hop flavor, juicy, with a nice hop bitterness
Palate: Light-medium body, dry finish, very smooth and drinkable
Overall Impression: This is a pretty solid IPA. Simple and solid, it just works. Juicy and smooth with a nice hop flavor.
Randomly, I just noticed that this is my 100th IPA rating on RB.

Bomber. Pours a darkish orange with a small sudsy head and aromas of floral hops with a little bit of a citrus edge. Flavor is OK... maybe a little watery at times, but there is a nice caramel malt backbone with a resin and citrus hops presence that is consistent throughout the palate and bitter in the finish.

On cask at Friday the Firkenteenth at the Grey Lodge Pub. Transparent orange, gold with a lacing white head. Nice floral aroma, pine too. Flavor is very solid. Exactly what you expect from a West Coast IPA: grapefruit, pine, flowers, candy, caramel. Bitter but clean finish. Very drinkable and nice on cask.

22 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear amber color with a medium-large frothy, creamy tan head. Good head retention and mottled lacing. Nice looking beer. Nice caramel, toffee and slightly nutty maltiness supports a citrus and floral hop aroma with a bit of resin and herbalness. Bitter citrus hop taste with a twinge of resin and wood and a lot of grapefruit in the finish. Not as well balanced as the aroma, but still good. Medium bodied and a bit of a lingering hop burn. Decent IPA.

Drank fresh on tap at Dry Dock. Golden color, big hoppy, citrusy and piney nose. Hop bomb start and then a touch of malt hits the back of the throat to balance things. This is so sweet. Nice fragerant bitter finish. Yummy

Crystal clear golden color with a fluffy white head. Citrus, fresh fruit, grapefruit, light pine, and some malts. Flavor is of itense citrus/grapefruit hops. Light fruits, pine, and some malt thrown in for good fun. Bitter, but not palate killingly so. Mighty fine.
