Black IPA. Awesome hops, wicked malts and some balls to the wall wizardry make this a dark beer light! Hopped with Simcoe, Chinook and Columbus.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Paul. Pours clear dark brown with a frothy beige head. Big grape nose with modest toasted pine, orange. Medium sweet flavor with ashy roast, slight minerals, burnt grains, toast, baking cocoa, oily pine. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely resinous to finish, plenty of robust roast, hard bittersweet cocoa, charred toast. Solid CDA.

Bottle shared at Bruces. It pours near black with a tan head. The nose is sweet cocoa, piney hops, dark chocolate cake, roasty, sherbet and stewed orange. The taste is bitter, ashy, dark chocolate, light booze, piney, rich roast, light coffee, toast, earth and grapefruit rind with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Punchy and flavoursome. Rather nice.

@Indyman - Very dark brown, thin head. Very aromatic with resinous hops and burnt malts. Some grassy elements in the flavour together with plenty of hop. Pleasantly high bitterness.
