Brewed for the early risers, who sacrifice sleep and warmth for a the first meeting of the day aboard a wave to shore.
Added in 2013 to the Port Brewing year-round lineup, Board Meeting is an amplified Brown Ale, brewed with liberal additions of coffee from local San Diego roasters, Ryan Brothers and cocoa nibs sourced from famed San Francisco chocolate maker TCHO. Deep coffee flavor gives way to layers of bitter dark chocolate and a creamy vanilla body.

650ml bottle. Dark brown colour with huge, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Dark malty aroma with hints of coffee, cocoa, a fruity touch of red berries and their parings, herbal-spicy hoppy overtones. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, notes of coffee, cappucchino, cocoa, a nuttily touch, herbal-spicy and cautiously bitter hoppy overtones.

Bottle. Pours brown with a big and thick latte coloured head. A brown ale on the hoppier and boozier side with heavy notes of coffee and cocoa nibs. The end result is a beer that reminds me of an imperial stout, but with a lighter body.

Opaque dark brown - red beer with a big pale tan head. Nose of light minerally coffee. Palate is fairly crisp and semi dry. Sweet minerally coffee with light citrus, well buried. Thin malt cream. Finishes semi dry with medium bitterness. That’s about all! Simple but decent.

Sample at the Port Brewing/Lost Abbey tasting room. Dark brown pour with a medium thick foamy tan head that diminishes slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and caramel. Medium-bodied with flavors of roast coffee, caramel malt and chocolate. The finish is roasty with a nutty cocoa aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle at the Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Poured a deep mahogany with a super frothy tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt and coffee. The flavour is medium to strong bitter, with lots of roasted malt, liqourice, coffee and dark chocolate on the super smooth, slightly alcoholic palate.
