Napoleons troops described berliner weisse as the Champagne of the north as they advanced through Europe. Imagined here by two northern breweries for your drinking pleasure; a sour, hoppy glass of fizz.

On tap at 2018 Vrteška festival, Belgrade. Shared with Višnja 666 and Pilot Goran. Murky straw, minimal head. Citrusy, barnyard, funky, fruity, light sourness. Yeasty, harsh woody, lemony, light sour. Slightly unpleasant. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, moderate finish. Slightly too harsh and too creamy.

33cl can from Beer52.com. A hazy pale straw coloured pour with a thin white head; clean aroma of grape juice with a hint of yeast; fresh grape taste with a sour edge; and a dry yeasty finish. Champagne-like, yes, Berliner Weisse, not as convincing.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - pale yellow and hazy. Some head. Nose - pineapple and resin. Taste - fresh sweat then more tropical - probably pineapple - again. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - I expected this to be a bit more sour, that said a decent beer. Perhaps it will become more sour with age.
