Soaring through the air with grace and fury, the Luchador descends. The multi-limbed warrior carries an elegance in the efficient manner with which he dispatches his foes. Plenty of action, style, and glory await you in this Mexican-Style Chocolate Stout. Sweet flavors blossom from additions of vanilla and cinnamon, while a spicy body gets it’s kick from ancho chile powder. Dark malt flavors provide a robust palette upon which one may don the Chocolate Sombrero.

Bottle at Dean’s Birthday Tasting, August 2013. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is rich and peaty with a little sweetness and alcohol. The flavour is medium bitter with chocolate, liqourice, roasted malts and coffee on the smooth and complex palate. A super tasty beer. Well worth the rating.

Bottle shared at Dean’s birthday tasting thanks to Jmgreenuk. Pours near black with a small brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, light chillis, vanilla, cinnamon. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Thick mouthfeel with a light chili warmth in the finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

650ml bottle. Darkest brown, quasi black colour with small, creamy fairly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Dark malty aroma has a roasty touch, a nose-biting, peppery chili touch, hints of chocolate, molasses. Taste is dark malty in moderately sweet, minimally tart and dry characteristic, peppery notes of chili, chocolate, coffee, molasses; full body, extremely long lasting finish with chocolately notes, some chili, sticky palate. Really intense, peppery, chocolately, maybe not everyone’s taste but mine.

Very strong smell of chocolate and cocoa. Pitch black, with dark brown head. Strangely watery to start with. Aroma of chocolate (somewhat artificial), coffee, ash, tar. Very sweet, somewhat bitter. Texture is ashy dry, heavy finish. Carbon is flat but plentiful. Less watery when warmer.

Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours very dark brown with a slight tan head. Aromas of chocolate, chilies and arguably cinnamon. Flavor is chocolate, cinnamon, chilies and roast dark malt. It all works very well together. Quite tasty. Finishes a bit earthy chocolate and arguably not really sweet.

Deep opaque brown body, thick puffy light brown head. Sweet nose with abundant toasted sugars, sweet chocolate wafers, toast, and spice, oh so nice. Roasty, spicy, sweet body with warming alcohol, chocolate wafers, and hints of cinnamon and vanilla, with the chiles swimming beneath the surface and providing a kick. Creamy and decadent, sticky, but not thick or sludgy. Wow, this reminds me in many ways of one of my favorite beers, the old pub version of the Thirsty Dog Siberian Night Imperial Stout. Great beer.

Bomber .... I guess this is yet another attempt at cloning CCB’s Hunahpu.
