It’s the final and most intense day of a five-day test match between the West Indies and England and tensions are high – four runs to go with two balls remaining. This is the West Indies last chance to win – a nail-biter.
The entire Oval falls silent as our batsmen assume their positions in front of their wickets. You need something to quench your nerves and your thirst so you feverishly search for a Carib in your cooler buried deep in the ice – nothing is better than a cold, cold, Carib. From old tasting notes. Medium gold color. Fine bead white head. Light malty aroma. Zesty tart grainy malt palate hints at citrus. Refreshing light dry finish and mild lingering aftertaste. Decently refreshing, especially when on a beach in the Bahamas.

275ml bottle, thanks to Blackhaddock for this donation! Pours clear gold, thin white ring. Aroma bears some sweetcorn traits, grassy. Taste follows with more of the same, moderately sweet but not unpleasant. There are definitely worse Caribbean lagers.

Not horrible as long as you keep your expectations low like like Hollywood movie sequels. Golden clear and tasteless. Some light cloying tang from malt. Bottle at bar in Woodbrook.

At work: pours gold with a crappy white head. Aroma is sugar and light skunk... how can one avoid with clear bottles. Taste is sweet and mostly inoffensive.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear straw colour with a small white head. Aroma of slightly bread malt, corn, grass, grain. Taste: sweet grains, corn, grassy hops. Sweet with little to no bitterness, thin texture. Average Caribbean lager good for a country tick. Easily drinkable and refreshing.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours pale yellow with no head. Aroma is grass, cooked vegetables, corn. Taste is sweet, corn syrup, cardboard. Don’t think I’ve ever had a good beer from a transparent bottle.
