Optisch orangegolden bis bernsteinfarben mit einem zarttrüben Glanz und überschaubarer, feiner bis mittelgrober Perlage. Die cremefarbene, feinporige Schaumkrone gibt sich wässerig-flaumig und hält ganz gut. Oha... die Duftaromen halten sich aber sehr zurück! Mit viel Anstrengung lassen sich leicht brotige bis honigartige Malzsüße und süßfruchtiges Zitrusaroma wahrnehmen. Der Antrunk kommt weichspritzig, durchaus frisch und zartsüßlich malzig bis süßlich fruchtig. Am Gaumen zeigt sich eine eher überschaubare Aromatik, die man als mäßig, aber keinesfalls schlecht bewerten darf. Leicht süßlich, fast karamellig malzig, süßlich-floral honigartig, hintergründig holzig, dazu passend zartherb mit zarter Säure. Von der Abstimmung her absolut rund und harmonisch - da gibt es wenig zu meckern. Aaaaber... ein Imperial IPA mit 7,8% Alkohol sollte schon mehr zeigen und wesentlich mehr Komplexität an den Tag legen. Fruchtigere Noten in ihrer Vielschichtigkeit wären da durchaus angebracht. Mundgefühl und Süffigkeit bewegen sich in besten Fall im Mittelmaß. Der Nachtrunk flacht überraschend rasch ab. Für so ein Bier regelrecht enttäuschend. Nach wenigen Sekunden bleibt bis auf eine marginale brotige Note wirklich nichts von diesem Bier hängen.

Can - which, despite the quality of the beer, is quite the looker! Pours a very clear gold, with a good white head, very reminiscent of a Helles. Aroma is hoppy, but reminiscent of a lager, can't believe there is mosaic in here. Medium body. Flavour is malty, quite bitter, almost no sweetness. Like mixing a Heineken with an IPA. Drinkable but definitely not good.

Crisp and just off golden coloured body with a thinnish pure white head that has some larger bubbles and fades quickly. Aroma of somewhat strong hops with some grassy and herbal notes and a light wheatie and slightly biscuity malt note that also has some hints of rice in the mix. Medium-bodied; Strong biscuity and grainy malt notes show up at first without much hop notes, aside from a dash of grassy and citrus flavours and a touch of sweetness towards the end. Aftertaste shows some additional bitterness from the very subdued alpha acids in the hops and a tiny bit of sweetness, but the rest is really just malts and funky ones at that with some rice and crackers in here. Overall, a decent at best IPA that really isn't an IPA at all, and showing some funky notes and a moderate malt profile with some citrus and grass, too. Nice to sample down here, but I'll be avoiding this/other non-Peruvian options in the future. I sampled this 50 cL can, purchased from Vivanda [grocery store] in San Borja/San Isidro, Lima, Peru on 01-August-2022 for S./9,90 sampled on the streets of Lima, Peru with my wife and three kids on 02-August-2022.

Smell of malt. Amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of malt, hops, some sugary notes. Wild carbon. Mostly sweet.

0.33l can. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Aroma and taste of sugar syrup, orange zest and a nice amount of floral hops. Medium bodied with a low carbonation. The alcohol is noticable but not harsh. No fireworks, but drinkable.

0.5l can. Golden body with a white head. Aroma and taste of bready malts, sugar syrup, orange peel, pine and booze. Not so complex and the bitterness is actually quite subtle for an Imperial IPA, but it's drinkable nevertheless.
