330ml bottle from Hemelvaart Bier Cafe, Bedale. Pours black with a lively beige head leaving lots of lacing and aroma of fruity citrusy hops, caramel, toffee, roasted malts. Burnt roast malt flavour with coffee notes and fruity hoppy, grapefruit bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry roast coffee-ish bitter finish. Very drinkable black IPA.

0,33 bottle from the Hoppy Imp. in Greece, consumed in Kosovo. Production date 19/12/2013, 11 months old. Pours oily black with a very tan tick head, browny and huge. Nose: mild coffee attack, grassy hops, just a hint of caramel in background. Refreshing mouth despite of the age (and style), chicory overall notes very well balanced with the mildness of the roasted malts. Excellent. I guess how is it when fresh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled (from biernavigatie). Pitch black colour, big brown head. Aroma is mild roasted malts, some sweet fruity and floral notes along with some wooden and resiny notes. Flavour is liquorice, mild toasted notes and also has a nice fruity and floral notes as well. Quite pleasantly balanced, the alcohol also gives a slight sweetness to it.

Bottle from Beer Hawk. A black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, fruity, slightly smokey aroma. Tastes roasty, bitter, coffee, pine and a little chocolate. Not what I would call a typical black IPA but this was still bloody good stuff. More please.

Tap at Tipping Point. Thick opaque black pour with foamy tan head. Deep roasted malty aroma - cereal, coffee, some hops. Sweet roasted flavor - with a good amount of hoppy bitterness. Rich without being heavy - good amount of carbonation. Bitter finish. Not the usual black IPA profile - more stout-like body, almost like a very hoppy stout. Great - would definitely get again.
