Zwart & Wit has a smooth mouth feel and combines both the hoppiness of a classic IPA and the light roasted malt flavor of a stout. Flavor indication: grassy, hoppy, light roasted. Translates as Black & White

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, roast, citrus and oily hops in the aroma. Licorice. Firm oily citric, grassy hopbitter flavor ith roast and licorice. Very nice, tasty beer but the hybrid character makes the balance questionable.

Buddel:Literally black with a medium sized and stable tanned head; toasted malt, dried fruits and nutty traces in the nose, grapefruity hops in the background; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, soft MF; lingering grapefruity-hoppy finish with malt and coffee and leather. Chapeau…

De Molen’s BIPA, thanks to Stefan for sharing. Towering, rocky, dense, creamy, light beige head over a very dark bronze beer, almost black. Aroma strikingly has a lot of orange juice at first, next to hints of marmelade, grapefruit peel, cedar, white pepper, chocolate, toasted bread, hazelnuts and iron but in a good way. Restrained dark fruitiness, raisins and dates but not too sweet, very nutty from the start, toasted with a smooth, soft, supple mouthfeel, a bit iron-like in the middle but not actually metallic, roasted bitter touch in the end as well as a sweeter chocolate touch, ending in a fragrant, grapefruity, resiny, long and deeply bittering hoppiness. Absolutely lovely.

Bottle shared at Ash’s. Pours black with a thick beige head. Aromas of light roast, coffee, pine. Taste is bitter, more pine, coffee, burnt orange. Definitely more of a stout on the finish. First wee tasting of the summer

Bottle from a corner shop. Appearance - like an expresso. Nose - more coffee notes. Dark chocolate. Taste - there is a tangy orange note but generally this is all about roast flavours. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly decent finish. Overall - it’s a good stout not an ipa.
