The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with.
This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

750ml bottle, I picked this up in BottleDog, when it was open years ago, so it must be 5 years old. Consumed at home, 4th December 2020. Pours black and thick. Aroma is dark malts, roasted malts, liquorice, chocolate. Taste is dark and rich, so smooth and effortless to drink, liquorice, coffee, wood, dark malts, very roasty and good and bitter, never too sweet. Classic and impressive Imperial Stout

2020 bottle. 10C. Black with a small tan head that's soon a rim and island. Aroma of chocolate brioche, coffee, blackberries, a little tobacco. Full bodied getting towards syrupy. Low carbonation. Tastes as it smells with firm underpinning roast and somewhat spicy and piney bitterness to set it off at the end. Good flavours, fine balance, enough presence to justify its strength but there's really no overt booze.

Cork-top bottle, 0.75l. Aroma of chocolate, nuts, roasted malt and alcohol. Pours pitch black color with thin creamy light brown head. Taste starts with heavy roasted malt and chocolate, following is nutty, earthy and herbal, mouthfeel is smooth but spicy, while finish is moderate bitter. Full body, creamy texture and lively carbonation in palate. Snake charmer...

Bottle, shared round ours with Dan and Mark. Cheers Mark. This was great. Had to check it wasn’t a BA job, as it was so smooth and full of almost phenol like character. Old school easy drinking.

4 oz. pour on tap at Boneyard Bistro. Appearance is opaque black with no sparkle, finger-width foamy light brown head with excellent retention and beautiful soapy lacing. Aroma is an astringency reminiscent of cocktail sauce/horseradish, roasted malt, vanilla, and cream (it definitely mellows as it warms). Taste is milder astringent horseradish than aroma but present, creamy chocolate and vanilla, alcohol, earth. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation, pleasant alcohol warmth and finish as taste with lingering bitterness. Overall, a strange, different astringent quality than I've experienced before. Unique. Slightly light in the palate. Interesting and enjoyable.

2016 bottle, I think. Classic and old school stout. Heavy roasty, nicely bitter. Plenty of coffee, some licorice, not much sweetness. No barrel, lactose or coconut, and not needed either. Pleasure to drink, but glad I could share.
