Brewed to the taste of the nation, Stegmaier Gold Medal is the embodiment of a typical American lager. This light-bodied beer originally obtained its name from winning 8 gold medals at various European expositions in 1913. We have continued using these same time honored techniques that give the beer its winning taste. We use the finest American grown malt, and artfully blend it with Galena and Mt. Hood hops. Ring a Ding Ding! It’s COLD and GOLD from the Poconos!

From old tasting notes. Clear pale gold color. Brief white head. Big bubbles. Light fruity malt nose. Light grainy malt flavor has excessive carbonation. Bland finish. No aftertaste. Light body and flavor. Boring.

Sampled from a 16 oz can this beer poured a vibrant golden color with a huge creamy orange-white head tha lingered and left minimal lacing. The aroma was tangy citrus and a bit of artificial grape. The flavor was bitter and tangy with artificial grape and a bit of yeast. Medium length finish. Light body. Bland.

Deep, clear gold with a small dirty-white head. Slightly sour grain malt aroma. Taste is grain, sweet malt, barley.... Seems like some rice in there, somewhere, as well. Pretty much cheap-beer-typical, but better than many bargain beers.

Bottle as Stegmaier Gold from local discount grocery. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is a bit bready. Near medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is bready with a decent amount of hop - considering the style. Much more to this than a standard macro.

Bottle. Pours a clear, pale yellow-gold with a fizzy, small white head. Grainy malt aroma with almost no hops. Flavor is very sweet, bready, some caramel and sugary syrup, some weak earthiness, faint bitterness towards the finish. Light in body, average carbonation. Gotta drink this fella quick - warmth really brings out the worst here. Not terrible overall but there are better pale lagers for sure.

Pale yellow pour in the glass. Nose and taste is unremarkable malts and light bread. Rated 7/10/2000

tap at JK O’Donnells - The pub replaced their Warbird Mustang Gold (out of business) with this beer. It’s another pale lager and is about what I expected. It’s light and boring, but at least manages to not be as weak and watery as many examples of the style. Palatable, but it’s not one I’ll buy again.

My bottle just said stegmaier gold. Pale lager look, few bubbles. Sweet slag aroma, somewhat like grandmas old permanent treatment but sweeter. Scum on top. A mild pale lager with few ill taste trifles. Friendly and easy. Decent carbonation. Finish holds no negative effects either, just plain good beer. Probably should be styled as a pale lager.

Bottle (Stegmaier Gold, so hopefully this is its correct place.) Pours a meaningless clear gold with a little bit of a white head. Aromas are of light malt, grass and a hint of lemon from time to time (although not consistently.) Flavor has a lot of adjunct-type maltiness to it with a bit of a grassy and biscuity finish. Not a whole lot going on here, but it’s fine enough for mowing the lawn...
