This dark stout is a hearty and satisfying reward for those of us who embrace the frozen tundra. Uncut oatmeal fresh from Chilton, Wisconsin gives this stout a "sink into it" smoothness that slides you into its depth. Handcrafted English Chocolate malt and Wisconsin Victory malt combine to balance this robust ale.

Expect this ale to pour a luxurious head over a rich black ruby body. The powerful malt bouquet will greet you as you tip this silky smoothness from your glass. Our Oatmeal Stout is handcrafted in the time honored traditions. Serve just above room temperature and relax - road construction season will soon return.

Bottle: Nearly black, with a creamy tan head. Nutty, chocolate aroma. Creamy....oatmeal, chocolate and caramel malts, nutty flavor. More along porter-lines, but quite tasty.

Many thanks to Chris for bringing this bottle! Toll würzig-schokoladiger Geruch. The beer starts fresh, smooth. Not too sweet, nice malty with a great smooth dark chocolaty and very dry body. Nice and not too bitter, nice smooth roast, thick, creamy, very smooth and great. Nice full smooth malty chocolaty aftertaste.

Refrigerated bottle set on the counter for a bit from JoePessie poured into a shaker. Pours dark brown with medium brown hightlights and small off-white head. Little lacing, well carbonated, medium/light body, and bitter coffee aroma. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, and finishes long bitter hops. This beer is not sweet, should be listed as a stout rather than a sweet stout. Better as it warms, but still not a fan.

12 oz bottle. Pours deep brown with a light tan head. Lightly roasted aroma, cocoa. Flavor is roasty and smoky with dark chocolate and a light palate. Straightforward, but well done.

Purchased at Breeze Thru Liquors in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed while watching a Bulls game after a good day doing good company work. Appearance is a dark dark brown, a little red/brown light seeps in at the bottom of the glass, thin off white head. Aroma of dark chocolate, cocoa, a touch of lactose, roasted malt. Taste is very smooth, slight sweetness from the chocolate malt, slightly milky but retains its oatmeal stout qualities, nicely ’oatey’. New Glarus does an awesome job of making solid, solid brews.

Bottle. Deep brown body, slightly hazy. Frothy, tan head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of mild coffee, milk chocolate, toasted grain, roasted malts, floral hops, resin and earthiness. Hint of cola. The flvaor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet, moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Light to medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Nice balance among the roastiness, coffee and sweetness.
