Rated June 2006. Clear amber-ish color with thin pink head. Fruity aroma as would be expected. Initially a nice taste of sweet currants and a bit of malt. The finish brings about the sour, tart and/or bitter taste elements of the currants. I'd prefer a bit more malt to help balance the fruit and sour/bitter/tart after taste. All in all, not bad. I'll certainly enjoy the other three of the four pack.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is dense black currant, fruity and citric to acidic. Light oxidised malt base, solid rich black currant fruity. Mild lingering fruity finish.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of SpringsLicker. Pours a hazy amber with an off-white head. Sweet berry nose with a slightly oxidized edge. Medium body, excessive carbonation. Sweet berry accents even if I cannot particularly pick out blackcurrant. Clearly this is old, but it’s still somehow interesting and enjoyable. 220413

Another fine bottle from Degarth. This beer looks absolutely grotesque, like a mixture of tomato juice and prune juice. No head at all. Strong currant aroma with some grape and apple. Syrupy mouthfeel. Faint taste of currants. Sour. This feels like it was much better when fresh.

Found a single 2003 bottle at a distributor. Smell has slight hint of currants but not a lot. The taste is very distinct. Its not heavy or fruity but refreshing. and you gotta love Dogfish, they like to make everything as strong as possible.
