Au courant is a hazy orange beer with not much head. A flowery hop aroma. The flavor is tart but little other sensations lasted on the tongue. The malt and currants give off an almost cherry aroma. There is mor ein the nose than in the flavor of this beer. The currants leave quickly leaving only a tartness.

Burnt orange appearance with a slight lacing - sweet, yeasty aroma, with hints of perfume, lavender - quite light for a winter brew - tingling carbonation - flavors of apricot, flowers, safron, and of course, currants (though a bit more understated than I anticipated) - quite delicate and tasty, but it reminds me a bit too much of magic hat #9 - of course, this beer is better, but still much, much too similar.

Ruby tinted copper colour with a super thin off-white head. Aroma of black currants (big shocker!), caramel, brown sugar, malt and a light cherry presence. Medium-bodied; Sweet initial taste with some strong black currant and pepper noticeable. Aftertaste sweet with definate currant and spice notes. Overall, a great beer-I was expecting a bit different, but regardless, a great beer! I sampled this on draught at the DogFishHead BrewPub in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware on 27-December-2003.
